“My mind transformation story”

Before I comment on the technique, posture or even the muscles you see in this picture… I must say that I was struggling. I was telling myself “hang in there / you are nearly there”… and I DID. I finished this military style obstacle course and moved on to my final obstacle with my coach. That particular walk with a sense of accomplishment in my mind is drafted in this blog; “My Mind Transformation Story”

A physical body transformation (fitness) is very well documented across the internet. However I would like to document this differently as a mind transformation, which triggers the potential to find someone you really love, someone who talks to you and competes with you always, throughout your entire life. That someone is your real self!

Don’t wait for someone to tell you. I was told during my medical checkup to focus on weight loss and get back to exercise, else this will lead to high Blood Pressure. I came back home and realised that all the hard work in the office and thinking “but I AM fit!” was not helping me. I was in denial. There came my decision to get back to the best physical me and eventually transform my mind to visualise the person who I actually wanted to be.

There you go.”I lost 16 Kgs in 8-9 months and gained my confidence back “.

Base statement:

  1. It takes time to gain that fat mass, so it takes time to shed it as well. Nothing happens overnight.
  2. No salts or chemicals are used in my story.
  3. This transformation story is not simply limited to weight loss, you can apply these principles to your day to day problems in life.
  4. You WILL have times of desperation and ZERO results.

My Mind & Bodily status: (to give context of my training history, highs, and lows)

  1. Prior to 2009:  Taekwondo & Boxing trained, regular gymming, minimal meditation and I was aggressive in my actions/training style.
  2. 2009- 2014: Limited physical activity, practiced meditation and had a spiritual inclination, went on long travels.
  3. 2014- June 2016: Stressed, in self-denial, and living in excuses. However my aggressive actions/training style had calmed.
  4. Present Day June 2017: Positive, action oriented and able to visualise and achieve things in life/goals that I set.

So what worked? ( Contact me via email if you are struggling with this )

I stopped hesitating to accept my current situation – self-realization.

I got committed to my real self – being honest in front of the mirror.

I was willing to repeat a schedule over days…months – discipline and persistence.

How?

I kick started with a clear compelling goal in my mind, then yes, everything started to fall into place. I could see gym adverts everywhere, so I joined one! Read about law of attraction.

I instantly realised that although I had thought “but I AM fit!” my body was not moving as it was when I was younger.

I joined group HIIT classes to get some more motivation. I could feel the intensity and I immediately interacted with the HIIT coach regarding personal training.
Important– Your mind will program itself to work with the best when you visualise your goal – Now, this was the turning point for me. It’s always easy to have a pre-conceived notion about yourself and your abilities so you end up not letting someone else to direct you. Trust me, you have do it sometimes.

The most important aspect of a coach and trainee relationship is “trust and commitment”,We both were committed to the goal of me losing fat without losing muscles. Over the course of 3-6 months, I was taken back to basics and trained in the fundamentals of strength training. We repeated these fundamentals for approx. 4 months before my coach believed those essential skills and techniques had been mastered and I was ready to graduate to more advanced movements. E.g. heavy deadlifts, squats, bench presses, kettlebell swings and more. My coach calls this technique for development the “graduating” system where you must earn your right to move on. It engrains techniques in your muscle memory, teaches you skill mastery, and gives each workout a purpose, so that it is never “just another workout”.

The results were astonishing with fat loss and weight reduction by 6 kgs.

I continued my HIIT group classes & started to track my diet ( I am a INDIAN vegetarian and I made sure I dont eat more than 1880 calories a day) .

Breakfast : Oatmeal/Daliya

Lunch : 3 phulkas with rajma/chana or any dal & veggie salad

snacks : 1 Banana/Protein bar OR 1 Pranaon Vegan protein shake (best in class products)

Dinner : 3 phulkas with dal/curry  & veggie salad

I stopped products with oil/cheese/butter and all aerated drinks

I had my cheat meal days ( 2 per month)

The biggest improvement I observed was – my body started to move as I wished it.
Initially I couldn’t even get my legs straight (due to hamstring tightness, and glute weakness) or do a basic workout, so this was a big win.

From 4-8 months of training the focus was on strength and endurance workouts, and my body started to respond. Each body part was working exactly as expected and the results were visible- overall muscular build/increased muscle tone +16 kgs of fat loss.

My Tips:

You can find various programs on the internet which will claim radical weight loss. Now, they might be true, but what they don’t tell you is about the mental process, the discipline.  That is why I am not giving you the gym program (I will give you my coaches social media contact). What I can do is give you these awesome tips:

The compelling reason for your action is “the better you, and better than yesterday”. Every moment is an opportunity OR a lost one if you fail to grab it.

Physical fitness (being active) is a proven method for fighting through and recovering from depression and many other mental illnesses. Even if you have good mental health currently- give it a go as a preventative method! Experience the better highs of live.

You will be called crazy. You will have find time for this craziness on your own terms!

Do not stop your routine for anything. Go rep-by-rep…class-by-class…day-by-day.

The most important tip however, is to find one other person who can understand your goal. Preferably your coach. I was lucky to find my coach – Trinity Joy Williams. She could understand my goals and pushed me towards optimal performance. The BEST is yet to come, and I feel supported.

This is not limited to a gym workout. It can be hiking, cycling, swimming, dancing or any form physical activity which can trigger your mind into doing better than yesterday. Your mind will help you to sail through it and recover from any situation you are facing right now. If you feel you are failing to do this now– connect with me.
